A "Grüner Veltliner" with the distinctive characteristics of its variety, from Austrias first registered designation of origin, DAC, which stands for "Districtus Austriae Controllatus".The aim of the Weinviertel winegrowing region is to push the domestic Grüner Veltliner variety to the forefront. The Weinviertel region offers the best locations for growing Grüner Veltliner. Only here this variety takes on its peppery, race flavour. Furthermore the variety is deeply rooted in the traditional viticulture of the region.The 2012 vintage marks the nineth year of DAC, being acclaimed by connoisseurs as well as by critics as a history of success. The typical qualities of the variety make our Weinviertel DAC a true representative: it features ripe apples (Golden Delicious) and citrus fruits (grapefruit), unfolds a peppery spiceness on the palate and has a racy structure and a pleasant body.
Best served with: very versatile, ideal with Viennese cuisine (e.g., porkroast and Viennese Schnitzel) as well as typical cold cuts.
